Let's try ABA!

Every child is endowed with unfathomable potential, and every child is capable of developing his or her talents. Autistic and developmentally challenged children need a good listener. A guide on the journey who will excitedly explore with them what motivates them. Even big goals can be achieved by breaking them down into many small steps and repeating them day after day.

ABA is often interpreted as esoteric, but it can be applied to one's life first. It is chock full of practical know-how that will enable you to achieve more of your life goals by increasing desired behaviors and eliminating unwanted ones.

For parents of children with autism, developmental disabilities, and physical and intellectual disabilities

Parents are their children's best teachers.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a clinical field that is still unfamiliar in Japan, but research has shown it to be an effective treatment for autism and other developmental disorders, especially in North America.

ABA has much to offer parents of children with autism and developmental disabilities, as well as those with physical and intellectual disabilities. Many issues can be addressed through "home" practice, such as how to interact with your child in daily life, how to train skills to promote independence, and how to deal with problem behaviors.

【ABA Home Therapy (available at any time)

Home therapy once or twice a week by ABA therapist (90 minutes) + Individual consultation by supervisor (60 minutes)

★Process to start therapy

・We will ask you about your child's behavioral concerns by phone or Zoom.

・Please apply for a session period of 2 terms (2 months).

・At the first therapy session, we will prepare documents such as Intake Form (interview, therapy contract, non-disclosure agreement (video), and agreement to conduct a functional behavioral assessment FBA).

・The supervisor will create an individual support plan program based on the results of the assessment of the function of the behavior.

【ABA Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention】

(home-visit therapy for children 2-4 years old)

The Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention Program (EIBI 20 hours/week) using VB-MAPP is considered to be very effective, but it is not covered by insurance in Japan, so the cost is high, and therapists who can implement a global standard therapy program are limited. The cost is high in Japan because it is not covered by insurance, and the number of therapists who can conduct a global standard therapy program is limited.

The bottom line is that the program can be expected to be effective if the therapist visits twice a week and the rest is done at home as much as the parents are able to do. We will provide a binder to keep track of all the programs and records, and will update it as needed. The binder will be placed in your home so that you will be able to check the data and see what the programs are designed to achieve.

What is VB-MAPP?

VB-MAPP (The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) is a language development assessment tool and curriculum guide designed for children with autism and other language delays. The VB-MAPP can be used to determine which programs to implement and how to implement them when implementing early care and education. VB-MAPP is based on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) and focuses on the basic language behaviors of mand, tact, and listener, and also includes skills that are fundamental to learning such as matching and imitation, as well as self-care skills.
